Here is a photo of a Bachmann 14 ton tank wagon plus a platelyers hut, which I assembled from a kit.
The kit just had a printed corrugated iron roof, so I brought some corrugated cardboard from a craft discount store, and made a new roof for it.

Every time I get to the point where I just can’t go any further on my layout(after 4 plus years of work) I open your web site and realize why I love this hobby so much!
For a beginner I started with too big a project! 3 levels..13 sidings and a 6-7 train operation…after going thru a cancer operation this year I just don’t have the energy to put the time into the layout. But when I see what you are doing I am made to realize that this is more than a hobby! It’s an outlet form my creative juices! It’s a way to spend my retirement years with something that I truly love doing! THANK You1

Whilst watching the soldering I was admiring the timber surround and soldering shelf which looked quite useful and simple to make, and with a few strategically place pins can hold wires in place whilst applying solder, without burning the desk or cooling the wire with a metal clamp. Good video Dave.
I always look forward to seeing Dave and other subscribing enthusiasts tips, photographs and videos, but I do wonder how Dave manages to find time, not only to build and run trains on his magnificent layout, but to take videos too?
So, well done and keep the videos coming Dave and by the way, I would like to see a shot of the control panel and layout plan, when you have a spare minute or two!.

I really enjoy all these emails and tips, I think one reason you are down on submissions is because you had put some restrictions on submitals etc. a few months ago. Probably cut down on your incoming emails. In any case, I think your work has great value and has picked me up when I’ve felt like walking away from my layout. Dave, Do you give tours of your layout? I am through the UK many times with down time to spare. Would love to have a visit. Anyhow, great tips on the lights. I am not much of an electrician and anything concerning electrical and wiring is a great help.
