  29. Lee Barry/ CEO L"Z"PMRR says:

Excellent!Excellent! I too would like to know the secrets of some of the stuff, such as the wheel falling off. The cat scene reminds me of my solid white 15 lb. cat, Marsha, on my layout when I first got it, that was one of her 9 lives she lost ( just kidding out there you SPCAers). I am going to forward this to some people I know plus some members of a Z scale group. A very funny and entertaining video, only problem is thelength, too short. Thanks Dave for letting us see this. This could probably go viral on UToobe, I don’t know how to do it and wouldn’t without the owners written permissing. Hey keep more of ’em coming. SUPER !!!

  30. Jimmy says:

    Brilliant 🙂

  31. Peter Evangel says:

  51. Rob says:

Catzilla, I LOVE IT!!! Nice touch.

  52. Willie Kerr (Glasgow) says:

Just fixed my utility bill for another expensive year so this was just what the doctor ordered. Also my wife is wanting to get a wee cat so she can just **** off. Great stuff Dave.

  53. andy says:

Haha great video. Looking fwd to the next one

  54. kenn says:

Excellent and enjoyable. I had a good laugh. I love how the catzilla made its way through the street without knocking anything over. I loved the urban renewal with the domino effect. Reminds me of the south side of Philadelphia when they redid all of the section 8 housing projects. The spider is classic. Reminds me of the big spiders in Florida. I love the guy falling in front of the train, again reminds me of the subway in Philly or New York. Good to see Ghostbusters in action either being chased by or working with the A Team. I loved the haunted car especially when the hood falls on the guy. THis was great. Wish I could be that creatively warped.

  55. Les says:

GREAT video! There should be an award given for this video. Please keep them coming.

  56. Kaustav says:

Superb, very clever, worth watching over and over again cos it’s great fun

  60. THOMAS says:

LOOKS LIKE THE REAL PICTURE. VERY NICE.

  61. Rod Mackay says:

Fabulous, just great. Real life is not too dissimilar round here either. Had a rogue car crash through a fence and down an embankment onto the track. Had a mystery fatality treated by Police as a crime scene. Had a driver follow a dog running up the four-foot all the way to the next station, only to see the dog cross over to the down line and run back in front of the next one (honestly!) Had a train cancelled because of an infestation of fleas in the driver’s seat. Had a kid ride through the tunnel hanging on the back of a passenger train, who nearly gave the guard a heart-attack by banging on the windscreen… no two days the same on the railway!
    Rod

  62. Harry Kubarek says:

What an imagination! Beautifully done. I laughed out load. Hope to see some more of Scumtown.

  63. Christine says:

I hope the maker of the video is a kid. It was very good until the spider, then that was it for me.

  64. Christine says:

I would liked to seen more trains, but that is a very good video.

  65. dave says:

  68. Robert Bouskill says:

What a fantastic tribute to real life !

  69. Dave Geiser, St. Louis, MO says:

    Tremendous –
I loved the scene from the Stephen King movie “Christine” with the 1957 Dodge (?) limping back to the garage, with smoke coming out from under the hood. Absolutely classic. Not just a model RR guy, a budding cinematographer !
    Congratulations.

    Rick

  80. robert leach says:

well impressed had a few laughs great detailing

  81. Gary P. Dettl says:

FANTASTIC I was Gobsmacked , very creative. Would like to know how you did the animation. I laughed so hard I had tears, almost peed in my pants from laughing. Also, nice scenery and realism.

  82. Gene Fricks says:

I would be interested in how he was able to achieve the automobile animantion.

The layout is a pretty accurate portrayal of Detroit Michigan.

  83. Fred says:

Great layout. We should all have some features like this, lest we start taking ourselves to seriously. It’s occasionally a little twisted, but that’s about right for the times and kids of all ages!

  84. Bob says:

Incredible, and funny. Cat reminds me of experience with cat and catenary.

  85. Bob Shipley says:

One of the most entertaining model railroad videos I watched! Could have done without the spider though.

  86. Mike Griner says:

Great fun! How to get rid of those leftover “parts”! Mike

  87. Ron says:

This has got to be the best model railroad video I’ve ever seen. I have watched it 10 times now, and shared it with my whole family and friends. Everyone of them are still laughing. Now that I’ve calmed down, I would like to commend the absolute brilliance of the detailing on the layout itself. Most impressive. The realism and fine detail are spot on. Thanks for an entertaining few minutes and again kudos to the craftsmanship displayed..

  88. J Dentner says:

LMAO, that was hilarious…. Minot, ME for sure, comments are just as good as video.

  98. Jack Riepe says:

I thoroughly enjoyed this. The spider scared the shit out of me though. I always knew there were spiders as big as cars someplace. Train layouts need to make a statement.

great video, great layout and a great mind . all come together to show what can be done when you put your “warped” mind to it . Just kidding about the warped mind . when the spider ran into the garage door i thought now the fun really
starts as he has a loose spider o
n his layout .. What do you do with that ?

  104. Robert Shuman says:

Extremely well done. Great sound track too.! Thanks and keep up the great work.

  105. John says:

Great video, entertaining and creative. It sure beats my ordinary train going round & round & round………….

  106. Mike says:

What can I say that has not been said it was Brilliant! great action. Also look outside of the video, look also the scenery and buildings the little things that go into making not just a model but a master model – well done.

  107. Jim Aspin says:

That takes a ton of time and energy!

  108. Terry Miller says:

    EXCELLENT!! Thanks for sharing.
I especially liked the opening scene with the guy being run over by a train.
I once had a boss who was the worst person in the world so I made a clay figure of him, placed it on my model RR layout and took great satisfaction as the engine continuously ran over him.
    Great stress reliever.

  119. Robert Rolfe says:

I LOVE IT, Like the cat not stepping on anything, Spider is GREAT, nobody could have make the spider do that. I do think the person that did this will not tell how it was done, and why should He or She do so?
    NV Bob

  120. rick says:

needed a good laugh, been days with out one

  121. Brian Doughty says:

good video. only thing i would take issue with is the engine running over the person. i am a train guard in Sydney NSW. One of the worst things to happen to use is “person hit by train” other than that good one

Glad you posted this, great animation. It’s great seeing trains running but this video takes the prize. The more you laugh the more twisted your humor is. Keep them coming.

    Ray

  148. Earl Jones says:

Painful to watch the deterioration of the 58 Plymouth, more than watching the dude get run over by the train. I liked seeing that the train didn’t get derailed after the runover! The creators of the video must be junior Alfred Hitchcock clones.

  153. Harry r.decher jr says:

Thanks for the movie it was great was very entertaining

  154. dug sitowski says:

Wow! How did this guy know where I live. That’s my old 57′ Plymouth in the shop. Very funny and pretty close to real life with some creative twists. My cats love my N-scale layout too.

  155. Victor Koyano says:

I just had a house spider caught in a sticky trap meant for rats. It was bigger than the videos’s. Otherwise very realistic portrayal of Americana. It needs a shooting scene with say, thirty victims and shooter taken into custody with a lawyer….

  156. Michael Wells says:

thank you for the humor. I have always said that if you can’t have a little fun at work or in a hobby then get another job and or another hobby.

Thank you Alastair for posting this great stop and go video. I am still laughing and smiling. Couple that with (as previously mentioned) Catzilla and the hugh spider what more could you ask for. OK, I admit it. I want to see more of the Catzilla, spider and Ladies of the Lampost!

  197. William Orton says:

I love the hat tip to the movie Christine. The weathering on your layout must’ve taken a ton of time. The detail is amazing. Great work!

  198. Bud Backus says:

That was just great! It will take the stress away from any future model railroading.
I feel that the fantastic video allows me to let my hair down while working on the railroad, and I dont have any. That was perfect for my day.

  199. Quin Leigh Parker says:

    …coffee…out the nose…onto laptop…
    I think I hurt something laughing…

The “train running over pedestrian” has a bit of a wince factor.
That being said … perhaps the figure could be filled with catsup or red dye #2 for …more..realism …
A friend typed this because I’m only allowed the use crayons here…

    …and somebody owes me a laptop…

  208. JW says:

BRILLIANT! A la Benny Hill! I rarely laugh while watching a Model RR video! Great quality modelling and excellent weathering! The street scenes and the general cityscape were very well done. Your brilliance really showed through. the animation was near flawless! Sound FX and music wrapped it all up into an award-winning piece. I love the recycling the best!

  209. JK says:

Best one yet. Laughing my a** off. Kinda reminds me of Chicago, New York and LA. You need to add some homeless shelters and a southern border fence!! Also add Air Force 2 landing with Biden, Nancy, Kamala and AOC there to support the crack addicts.
