HO logging equipment

Gary’s been back in touch with an update on his latest HO logging equipment:

“Al,

I apologize I haven’t sent you any pictures lately cause I really haven’t had a lot time to work on the layout. Too many other things in life, taking the place of train time.

Wanted to share some current pictures and a couple of things that a friend of mine made for me for my Layout.

I’m still in benchwork stage. Haven’t finished getting all the track laid out for the main lines yet.

Once I get that done, I’m planning on trying to get all my buildings out and figure out where everything‘s gonna fit before I start putting in my spurs and sidings.

I’ve started building a a peninsula out in the center of the layout for my logging operation.

A friend of mine, who is a retired Air Force Colonel, Bruce Sanders made me a working log swing that will swing from side to side and raise and lower the logs with rope and pulley for the loading operation on top of the mountain where the hole is in the plywood.

He also made me a gallo turntable from scratch.

He is a good friend and a fantastic modeler. I will keep you updated with any more construction progress as it occurs.

Thanks for all you do for the hobby!

A huge big thanks to Gary for sharing his HO logging equipment layout update – really can’t wait to see more of this one.

Gary’s post also reminded me of Boyd’s:

That’s all for today folks.

Please do keep ’em coming.

And if today is the day you stop dreaming and start doing, the Beginner’s Guide is here.

Best

Al

I am so jealous. A beautiful space, an awesome track scheme, a wonderful friend, and a narrative that foretells of great things to come. Since you sucked us in like a Hoover vacuum you’re encumbered to keep us informed of the progress.
Man! If you have half the trains that’ll fit that yard that’s a lot.

WOW !!!! That’s going to be a very nice layout. I’m with George and Mike, what I give to have the space to have a layout like that !!!!!– Well I would have the space if I shoved my truck out of the garage that I’ve been working on for a few years but then with the high prices now with the lumber and train supplies the way they are I probably wouldn’t be able to afford to build a layout like that —– I guess I’ll keep dreaming !!!!

I love it, it’s more about railroading than scenery.
