Model railroad layouts plans

Got this in about an hour after making the ‘sleeping giants’ post. A big thanks to Charlie!

“Directly behind the capital building in Havana is a train restoration facility.

There are a few guys working there diligently restoring some great examples of American Locomotives.

The guys were very friendly and gave me free access to wander around.

Just a quick email to thank you for the various tips you send, I always enjoy reading them.

I don’t have any tips and the attached photos aren’t even model railway related, but I thought some of your subscribers, particularly from overseas may like to see them.

They were taken on a recent trip to Cuba where I stumbled upon this yard in the middle of Havana behind the Capital building.

I model 1930s GWR and really have no idea what these locomotives are and would love to know if anyone can identify them.

Got this in from Dave which I thought was excellent:

“Hello again Alastair,

One of my favorite tips is to set the rolling incline to all of the car storage tracks. If the tracks slightly incline to the end of track blocker there is little likelihood that the cars will run out away and onto the mainline. Now working in foam insulation means that a minor wedge of foam must be removed for this to be attained but previously when I did this on a wooden table it was just a matter of cutting the plywood along the length of the parking track and securing the block area of this track a little bit lower than the rail for the main line.
