Eric’s been in touch with his HO scale town update. His layout is really taking shape now:
“Well Alistair Part 6 is here
I mentioned in past post about ladies of the night waving down cars well that is here.
The fire in the old warehouse is getting out of control. The fire department is unable to respond due to police activity on the Westside of the building.
Then there is a little twist ….
One of the bloger followers wanted crime in the town well here it is , there was a clue in a past post photo with police cars blocking the street and officers out and with a police dog 🐕.
The talk around Town Maxville is the guy with the knife stabbed the guy on the ground and the other guy with a gun on a lady. Both may have started the fire in the vacant warehouse for profit.
I threw some extra pics of Town Maxville.
I will send YouTube videos in part 7 which will complete Town Maxville, well we will never know what else could happen.
Thank you Al and everyone that has been following Town Maxville
Eric the Firefighter St. Louis, MO area.”
A big thanks to Eric for part – his HO scale town is looks fab.
Have a look as his first post and you really get a feel of what he’s done:
“Hi Al,
I have uploaded the long awaited video of my Heislers double headed pulling a fully loaded log train on the way to the sawmill.
I will have to get used to using the camera properly as well. It is not easy to use a tripod while following the train.
It was only after I uploaded it and watched it again that I saw that the two Heislers were running on two slightly different speed settings.
I will have to change that and do another one in the near future of them running all the way to the sawmill.
I will also do one of my two Shays double heading.
Brian”

PPS More HO scale train layouts here if that’s your thing.
I will never understand why modelers paint the edge boards such colors. Why not camo or continue the scenery down a ways? That shay movie was cool but the paint on the border takes away from the scene…just sayin’.
plenty going on on your layout Eric , a lot of detail there , and a nice logging layout Brian capturing the atmosphere of it all …..Dangerous Dave
Eric
Awesome. Thanks for that.
Brian
Loved the Heislers and the scenery. There is just something about logging, the towns, woods, and characters that put me in a happy place. I can smell it.
Cant wait for the Shays-my favorite.
Did you install the DCC decoders?

I find the standard blackboard black surrounds rather gloomy so did Diano Marina’s edging in gloss white, I think it looks quite light, bright and appealing.
Kool!!!! Mine is going look something like that win i get it done.
Eric…….great job……the scenes are great……police scene is a little gruesome though but different.
Brian…..love that logging train
Well, at least your crime scene isn’t a drive-by shooting or a police pursuit. Wait…if you did that, it would place your railroad here in Southern California…
Love the lodging Sean with the Shays hope we get to see more of it in the future, keep up the good work and Thanks for sharing will all of us.
Eric, where I come from, and when I tillered Truck17 through the streets of Baltimore. Maryland, the police allowed access to the fire scene. Brian, railroads require the headlight on the second locomotive be dimmed when double heading, and yes, after my fire department time, I became an engineer for Conrail and then Amtrak.
Great layout, Eric. I always enjoy when imagination is used to place the figures so they tell stories. Brian, you certainly have created an authentic-looking logging layout. It was great fun watching the shays move through the landscape you created. Rob McCrain
A really nice layout Eric, plenty of different scenes, I really like the logging scenes and the town scenes. Well done !!!!
very nice. good work.
Eric: Great detail. Loved the layout. That was my layout with bank robbery cops with dog and 1950s car 54 but you took it to a whole new level
