Wayne’s been in touch with some addition to his HO scale coal mine buildings.
But before that, Bill’s been back in touch. If you missed his last post, it’s here.
“Good Day Al,
I’ve been a bit hobbled up lately with some back issues so have really enjoyed each morning seeing your posts come thru and enjoy what fellow modelers are doing.
Always great to see the variety of skills and ideas shared.
I have shared a link to a video showing mostly running some freight trains on both my N scale and HO layouts.
I am so glad I built things to be movable snd on the lite side. It’s definitely paid off here lately.
All the Best

And now on to Wayne, who is still working hard on his layout:
“I am sending an update photo of the comet mine.
I have added shipment items along the front, grass, some rocks ” metor “, a tree, four posts to protect the fuel line, and some trash in the back.
I have nearly finished with the HO scale coal mine buildings.
Next yuh y the hills in back and the farm.
I finaly have started on the hills and the farm in back of the comet mine.
Wayne”
If you missed Wayne’s last post, it’s here.
A big thanks to Bill and Wayne.
That’s all for today folks because i’m in a screaming hurry.
Please do keep ’em coming.
And don’t forget the Beginner’s Guide is here if you want to get going on your own layout.
Best
Al
Brilliant layout detail and scenery, Bill. Amazing! Very realistic.
Very nice video Bill, wonderful layout and scenery – trees are really great.
Good work on that mine Wayne.

I love the look of a darkened layout with a single exterior light illuminating a building. Well done.
Bill, your layout is so detailed and life like, absolutely amazing. Loved the shunting scene. Lots of fun to be had there. Hope your back gets better soon. Regards, Peter…
Bill ,Your layout has come a long way very impressive landscape.
By the way Blue painters tape in my opinion is over priced. I use when needed the standard beige masking tape a little more economical and almost as good.

Nice work there Wayne ….and great video Bill…Dangerous dave
Bill and Wayne, each of you present very good models pleasing to the eye and fun to play with.
Bill, your video shows an irritant for me, the wheels dropping into the gap between the rails on the switches. I found that by adding a layer or two of tape or plastic across the gap tapered at each end to zero causing the wheel to roll on is flange and not wobble. This appears to be most common on insulated rail noses. The tap must only be the thickness of the gap between the present plastic form and the flange and is a result of the required radius between model and prototype.
Wayne, I know it’s not finished yet but the shed door lamp is far too bright a few coats of your brush cleaning pots contents before you change it will help it to blend down to the dull yellowish of the lamp at the top of the stairs to the right.
Nice Video Bill. My mom worked for Cooper-Jarrett for 25 years. Actually so did I when going to college.
Bill
Thanks for a great video of a Number one layout. Awful when your back gives you grief.
Wayne
Nice work and imagination. Keep it up and show us your progress.
All be well and safe

Beautiful layout. True craftsman modeling. Thank you for sharing
Pretty Neat.!!!!! I am going to put something like that on layout.
Bill, you have a very nice layout and I enjoyed the video you posted for us to see.
Hi everybody Bill what a great layout I love the trick with the blue painter’s tape sometimes I almost lose my mind over them little pieces trying to hold on to them thanks for the great idea.
Bill. Unbelievably realistic. Your rock work is amazing.
Great mine diarama Wayne. Any others?
Bill and Wayne, super videos. Bill, when the box car wobbles, does that mean that it’s under weighted? I’m curious, as I read the comment from Terry, made earlier. I’m very interested in getting my cars weighted properly. Any advice would be helpful. Charles in NJ.
Hope the back clears up for you!
Where in Virginia do you live?
I live in Bethesda, MD, and I am just getting started.
Hi all – thanks for all the nice comments!
Terry – interesting ideas and I will look at that more closely .
Charles I think weighting will help. I have not weighted any of my cars in either scale yet and some of the equipment is 30-40 years old so the engineering is not to current day standards. It’s a next winter project for me as well as change out some trucks on the HO scale layout.
Robert – not too far from you . I’m on the north side of Richmond
